How Does a HydroPort Connect to a PolyDock?

Your jet ski is one of your most prized possessions, and you want to do everything you can to keep it safe. Securing your jet ski to a docking platform or PWC lift is one of the best things you can do to both store it near the water and out of the way of the elements and other hazards that could affect its performance or appearance. Many jet ski docks, including the HydroPort Epic and HydroPort Extreme, are drive-on, push-off style platforms that make loading and launching easy. They also have the flexibility to be mounted on the dock, to each other, or to the shore, adding flexibility to your connection options.

Here at PolyDock, we get a lot of questions about how to connect the docks in the HydroPort series to our floating docks. Luckily, it’s very easy to do, so grab your tools and a trusted friend and get started! Remember that instructions are included with our products, and nearly every waterfront manufacturer will have copies of installation instructions available for free on their websites, if you ever lose your copy.To connect your HP Series jet ski docking platform to a single PolyDock, you’ll use Part #1033362, which contains all the hardware needed for the project.

  • Place the mooring plug in the mount ports.

  • Hook the bottom of the mooring weldment to the bottom of the ShorePort and the top of the mooring weldment tab over the mooring plug.

  • Attach the mooring weldment to the mooring plug with the included 5/8-11 fine thread hex bolt.

  • Place the rectangle spacers between the C-channel and connector plate. You’ll use four carriage bolts and four hex flanges, but don’t tighten the nuts on the flanges until after the connector is fully assembled.

  • Put the connector rod into the bottom connector, then screw an oval Phillips screw through the bottom hole of the rod into the bottom connector.

  • Put the top connector in the top groove, and the bottom connector in the bottom groove of the PolyDock. Place the connector plates in the grooves.

  • Place a rectangular washer, lock washer, and hex bolt into the top connector. Thread the into the connector rod. Use a hex bolt, two flat washers, and one hex Nyloc nut to secure them.

  • Once your HydroPort is connected to your PolyDock and is in the water, tighten the nuts on the carriage bolts.

And with that, your connections are secure! You can now enjoy your new HydroPort as an extension of your PolyDock system! Although the connection is designed to be a secure one, it doesn’t hurt to regularly inspect your hardware and re-tighten it occasionally to ensure that your jet ski stays securely on its docking platform all season long.
